Having used thousands of makeup and skin care products over the last 30+ years, it takes a lot to get me excited. When I started to see IG and YT guru Farah Dhukai use an oil in various ways, I got intrigued. Upon further research, I discovered she was using Farsali Rose Gold Elixir. And when I saw I could redeem some of my IPSY points for a sample, I jumped on it. I was so excited to try this product that I posted on IG and Farah commented on it! She has over 5 million followers, so I was ecstatic! You can follow me on IG (DarthLisa1227) and see her wonderful comments!
Farsali Rose Gold Elixir retails for $54 for a 30mL bottle and can be found at select Sephora stores, www.sephora.com, and www.farsali.com. I received a sample bottle with my IPSY glam bag and was amazed by the list of luxurious ingredients, which include rosehip seed, pumpkin seed, lemongrass, and orange peel oils, along with 24K Gold and vitamin E. The oil has a very pleasant, citrusy scent. It is also a nut-free product and is good for all skin types. Please shake the bottle very well before using, as it has 24K Gold flakes in it. I tried the Rose Gold Elixir in three different ways: as a daily moisturizer, to revive dried-out products, and as a lip hydrator.
For the first test, I did not use my regular skin care products, only the Rose Gold Elixir. It was surprisingly lightweight and absorbed very quickly. My combination skin handled it quite well — my skin was soft, shine-free throughout the day, and my makeup never moved. My Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion has some major competition!
Next, I used the Rose Gold Elixir to revive a couple of prestige cream items that (to my serious disappointment) had dried out. The first is an expensive stick foundation that has a very hard formulation. It was so difficult to apply and blend that I quit using it. I put two drops of the Rose Gold Elixir on the top of the stick and the foundation applied beautifully and was still full coverage. It did leave a certain pretty glow to my skin, yet it was not oily or greasy. I also used the Rose Gold Elixir on several cream eyeliners and a cream contour kit. These types of products tend to dry out rather easily, but I only needed one drop of oil on each product to bring them back to life. All of a sudden I had new products! This beauty buff was truly amazed!
My absolute favorite way to use Rose Gold Elixir is as a lip hydrator. Wearing long-lasting, matte liquid lipsticks has been hard on my lips. Add in age and environmental factors and this diva has some dry lips. I used my usual $2 lip scrub to exfoliate, then applied two drops of the Rose Gold Elixir. It was like magic. I’ve never had such soft, smooth lips in my entire life. One drop is probably sufficient. And be sure the oil is completely absorbed before you apply your lipstick.
At $54 for a 30mL bottle, is Farsali’s Rose Gold Elixir worth the hype? ABSOLUTELY!!! It is a wonderful multi-tasking product that gave me glowing, radiant skin; brought new life to several unused (and very expensive) cosmetics; and gave me soft, smooth lips. I can’t wait to try more products in the Farsali line! This little treasure is definitely staying on the Dark Side vanity!
